Anish Kapoor lives and works in London. He was born to a Punjabi-Hindu father and a Baghdadi Jewish mother.
Before arriving in the UK in 1972 he attended the Doon School, Dehra Dun, India.
His pieces are invariably simple, curved forms.
His work is in around 30 major public collections around the world including the Tate Gallery, London and Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA.
Since the mid-1970s he has participated in many important group exhibitions.
