Great condition (see scans above). Sorry about the glare on the scans. Taken over glass which is difficult. The print of this piece was enclosed with a limited number of Brian Eno's album 'More Blank Than Frank' on EG Records, a companion to the aforementioned book. Probaly the most famous piece to come from the book.
Mills, b. 1952, is today a seriously underrated artist. Also a musician, though I have only heard a few snippets and found nothing enticing enough to want to discover more like an Eno, Sylvian or Harold Budd, it's his art that I find utterly captivating. He was the illustrator for book and music covers in the UK in the 1980s. Andrzej Klimowski is the only illustrator I can think of who has claim to that title. Mills designed the groundbreaking David Sylvian CD boxset 'Weatherbox' and other Sylvian titles but the list of commissions is almost endles: Eno, Land Records, Kundera, Japan, Samuel Beckett, NIN, Ian McEwan to name a few. Then he moved from Vauxhall, London to the Lake District but the work from that time stands the test of time. It is beautiful and waiting to be discovered by future generations. This work is one of the best known from that golden era.

He is still working but last I heard without an agent or gallery. The artwork is still astonishing. In a way he reminds me of a modern day Kurt Schwitters. Both famous artists working in the Lake District; both making timesless abstract pieces. Dada meets today; Ambleside unties them..
I'm sure his work will be re-evaluated and the prices will sky-rocket. Until then think of this as a wonderful investment which would look astonishing on any wall.
Please note: because of the size & weight of this item and because it has glass, this can only be picked up. If it was sent in the post I have no doubt it would be damaged no matter how well packed it was. I don't want to take that chance. Indeed, it really has to be seen in the flesh to fully appreciate the wonder of it. Our watermark is obviously not on the actual piece.
E-mail (ihuppert5@aol.com) to book an appointment to view piece and/or reserve item. We are in South East London. This piece is too heavy to send in the post so it will have to be collected. With the glass there is just too much of a chance that it will get damaged in the post no matter how well packaged it was.
