Oil on canvas (Winton). Prepared by canvas manufacturers Windsor & Newton. The work depicts a girl in a green sports car. There is some scuffing around the edges of canvas which will be covered by a mount. Strong, powerful sweeps of paint. Clearly painted by a very competent, but unknown artist. The initials KAE appear verso but may be of no significance. Overall condition okay.
This piece was done a few years after Tamara de Lempicka's famous Autoportrait (1925). Clearly the artist based this piece on that and has been very skillfully executed. The original is obviously worth millions; this is just £50.00 and for a piece that is 70 years old is a bargain.
