Henri Cartier-Bresson Paperback A mega rare chance to own a signed item from one of the greatest photographers of the 20th-century, Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004). The book is signed and dedicated on the inside page with a handwritten message (see scans below). Obtained directly from the photographer through the post in the late 1980s by a member of my family. DESCRIPTION (BACK COVER): Born in 1908, Henri Cartier-Bresson studied painting briefly before taking up photography in the early twenties. One of the founders of the photography agency Magnum (together with Robert Capa and others), he is best known for the skill with which he captures the most fleeting of scenes. This volume includes selections from his photographs of America as well as Spain, France, India, prerevolutionary China, Russia, and Mexico. The Pantheon Photo Library, conceived and printed by the Natonal Center of Photography in Paris, brings together the best work of classic and contemporary photographers in affordable guides produced to the highest standards. The series was the recipient of the International Center of Photography's first annual publication award for distinguished books on photography. Images © Estate of Henri Cartier-Bresson/NPG.
