30th Nov. 2013: It was announced on Saturday that Jean Kent has died.

She was injured in a fall at her home in Westhorpe, Suffolk, and died at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds at 03:40 GMT.

She was one of our last living connections with the great British actresses of the 1940s. Other than Lady Attenborough I can think of no others who are still living. Very sad.

It is hard to covey just how big Jean was in the 1940s along with Margaret Lockwood, Anna Neagle and Phylis Calvert. They were like modern day pop and rocks stars in terms of the level of their fame. They were just huge.
