Artist: Jean Marais His ceramic work and paintings are not really known outside of France - well, if they are they are known to very few. This is because no-one has really been bothered to translate his superb book, L'Oeuvre Plastique into English or, for that matter, for anything to be reprinted outside of France on his work. It is my aim, in a small way, to spread the word of the art of Jean Marais and to try and get more of his work onto the market as it is really rare outide of France. I mean Jean Marais is Jean Marais. One of the icons of 20th-century French cinema. One of the greats, featuring in some of the greatest films seen anywhere in the world. And his art, his pots, his objects, are so strongly beautiful. CONDITION: see scans below. I've only ever seen 2 of these and both were in a similar condition. Please refer to the scans. All I would say is that I have not seen one in better condition than this and mega rare on the market.
