Anacletus also called Anencletus, successor to A href="st_linus.html">Pope St. Linus. Pope St. Anacletus reigned from c. 79 until c. 92. Because the name Anacletus, which means "blameless," was common among Greek slaves, some scholars doubt that Anacletus existed, although Eusebius, the Liber pontificalis, and St. Irenaeus number him among the popes.
