This is an interesting read as I've always been interested at just how dark Frenzy was. I mean the first time I saw it I wondered whether Hitchcock had gone too far and repeated viewings just confirm it is compellingly disturbed to say the least. But it is a masterpiece whether you find the viewing unsettling or not. Maybe not as far out as Michael Powell's Peeping Tom but halfway there. The book puts all into context how Hitch arrived at making the film with previously unreleased material from the Hitchcock archives.

At the end of the day it's a compelling read from start to finish.
