Ruislip Lido
I went to take a few photographs of Ruislip Lido, West London primarily because the best Titanic film, A Night To Remember (1958) was partly shot there (the lifeboat scenes) and the model of the RMS Titanic was "sank on film" . As per his autobiography,
More or Less
Of course, 50 years + after the filming there isn't a trace of it ever being filmed there. But it was still worth a visit to see the surreal site of a beach in London! Extraordinary when you consider it looks inviting has changing booths but you can't actually swim in the water. That and the wildlife appealed to me and it is a beautiful place.
Oh and that beach was used for THE 1960s Cliff Richard movie, The Young Ones
The swans kept getting in the way of many of the photos but I don't think that's a bad thing.
